FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
BUNDLAR, LLC Awarded $1.9 Million TACFI to Enhance Air National Guard Operations with Cutting-Edge Augmented Reality Technology
Chicago, IL – BUNDLAR, a leading innovator in Augmented Reality (AR) solutions, is proud to announce the award of a $1.9 million Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) by the United States Air Force. This prestigious award will support the Air National Guard (ANG) with augmented 3D experiences for flightline scenarios, enabling rapid customization for various Air Force tasks.
The TACFI is a special funding initiative under the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. It is designed to help small businesses transition their groundbreaking technologies into operational use, bridging the gap between early-stage research and full commercialization or deployment. This award underscores the Air Force’s commitment to fostering innovative solutions that enhance mission readiness and operational efficiency.
As part of the TACFI award requirements, BUNDLAR secured an additional $1.9 million in investments from both new and existing investors for a total of $3.8 Million. This crucial investment underscores the confidence and support from the investment community and the DoD in BUNDLAR’s innovative solutions and their potential impact on Air Force operations.
Project Overview
BUNDLAR’s project will leverage Augmented Reality Headsets to demonstrate the utility of AR in enhancing decision-making and operational agility. This initiative aims to refine AR solutions for maintenance and training across the Air Force by extending the usability of XR headsets. This will position BUNDLAR for widespread adoption within the enterprise.
The BUNDLAR platform empowers airmen to create immersive AR experiences without the need for coding, utilizing an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. This approach significantly increases training efficiency and knowledge retention, providing mission-critical data and interactive 3D information that supports the Air Force’s Operational Imperatives of Resilient Basing and Readiness to Deploy and Fight.
Key Objectives
- Enhance ANG decision-making and operational agility by extending the usability of XR headsets.
Expand real-world trials and refine AR solutions for flight line operations, incorporating user feedback to validate performance, usability, and utility. - Conduct security and connectivity testing to ensure resilient offline functionality and trusted delivery mechanisms, validating the AR solution’s ability to handle diverse use cases.
- Support the Air Force’s Operational Imperatives of Resilient Basing and Readiness to Deploy and Fight by providing mission-critical data and interactive 3D information.
“We are honored to receive this TACFI award and excited to support the Air National Guard with our advanced AR technology,” said Lewis Gardner, CTO of BUNDLAR. “This project will not only demonstrate the practical utility of AR in flightline scenarios but also position BUNDLAR’s technologies for broader adoption across the Air Force, ultimately enhancing training and operational readiness.”
