For the last three years, Saint Louis University – Madrid has increased admissions by welcoming international students with an augmented admit pack that instantly immerses them in the campus experience and all that they have to look forward to.

The Challenge

Attracting students from around the world. Due to the geographical distance most Americans face when researching and applying to SLU-Madrid, most never actually visit Spain’s capital leading to their initial, and often only feel for the student, campus, and city life from paper marketing materials.

The Strategy

Provide a unique experience that separated them from other international universities by making prospective students “feel they were on-campus” with interactive augmented experiences in their Admittance Package, that tell the stories of current students in Madrid.

The Solution

An 11 page magazine mailed to accepted students, augmented with video interviews and testimonials from current students, faculty, advisors, including a personal welcome from the Dean of Students. Pages were enhanced with buttons enabling students to instantly act by accessing more information, social channels, and even registration.

The Outcome

A winning solution – three years and counting!

With an increase in admissions year over year, the enhanced admit pack is a proven winner. Using AR analytics, SLU-Madrid was finally able to place a number on how many prospective students were actually reading the admit pack, and it can be concluded that the majority of the students were viewing the mailed admit packet. And leverage the same data optimized the flow and content of the admit pack itself.

Lastly, not only was new student registration up, they received deposits at a faster rate than before.
